Vertigo is a lesser known but quite common symptom of Peri and Post Menopause. The estrogen receptors in the inner ear are tissues just like in the rest of the body. Inside the inner ear we have tiny calcium/bone like “crystal” structures that help with sensing acceleration and gravity to maintain balance. As Estrogen declines, it can impact those structures called “octonia” which impact the role they play but also can increase their degeneration hence a natural disruption and Vertigo is presented.
