This type of corset is essential in creating the curvy silhouette, typical of the Victorian era. It provides the bust support, creates the small waist/rounded hip profile, and forms the basis for all kinds of Victorian attire across the social strata. All our bodices are cut to fit the silhouette created by a corseted body. This corset is based on an progoinal made in silk moire fabric - very rare fabric nowadays! Features: * made in silk moire , in rust, with front and back panels strenghtened with cotton coutil * interior channels * strong stainless spoon steel busk, * boning channels ( in strong, tubular cotton tape) boned with flat and spiral steel bones * back lacing eyelets with washers * waist tape * edges bound in cotton bias tape * laced with a strong cotton cord * bones flossed * decoration with black lace Measurements - the corset closes at: bust - 36" (91cm) Waist - 25" (64m) hip - 37" (93cm) side length ( armpit edge to waist) 7" (16cm) Would best suit a size 8-10, with a natural waist of 27 -29", chest 38-39", hip 38-39" . All our Victorian corsets have the standard 2 inches waist reduction built in – the reduction will vary from person to person depending on the lady’s built and body type. Please measure carefully – your actual waist measurement should be at least 3 inches more than the waist measurement of the corset. The corset doesn't need to close - a gap at the back is perfectly normal, allowing a greater range of sizes to be worn. The hip should not be too tight - best measure yours when sitting. A corset with a hip fitting very snuggly when standing, can be uncomfortable to sit in! If you are at a loss as to what to look out for when shopping for corsets and how to check if they fit once you have bought one, this guide will help! If you are interested with a corset with more or less reduction, please contact us asking for a bespoke order – more information on ordering in the Bespoke section Bespoke corsets in this style start from £450 DISCLAIMER Please note that wearing an incorrect size or incorrect use of a corset might result in health issues. Corsets can be beneficial in certain conditions - but detrimental in others, so if you have a back/ spine/rib condition please check with your doctor prior to purchasing one. A well fitted corset should feel like a hug and should not cause any discomfort. If you need a corset to help with any issues, please consult and order bespoke with a profesional medical corsetiere who would be able to design the amount of support suitable to your needs. It is recommended that only ladies over 18 years old wear and buy corsets. Prior Attire will not be liable for any medical issues caused by incorrect fit or incorrect/prolonged wearing etc of our corsets.
